i agree we shud use ear plugs if u go to places like that because people do play music way to loud and they shud just turn it down a little bit so they do not become depth
Music is capable of bringing up all kinds of responses… Some
of it makes us happier and some makes us sadder, some is chaotic background noise, some of it just punctuates the moment, some agitates us and some relaxes us… I like music much of the time, but I never play it in my taxi because I find it distracting and it only makes the passengers talk louder…
@Bl4zz3r I am so sorry to hear that. I know they have new things to help but they are very pricey. I try to eat right & take vitiams…But it has changed my quilty of life. I tend not to go places I used to go or be around a lot of people. It sucks at times.
BIG HUGS for you
@anmoose
I think not know bout this hurts us too. But a lot of people hear what they want to hear when others tell them to beware We think it will never happen to us. I really did not know a lot about tinnitus till I got it. I think my ear Dr should have said use ear plugs ater surgery..since I cleaned homes for living but what will be will be huh!
Age is a factor but loud noise does not help. Sure hope your is not real bad.
HUGS for you
As a lifelong musician, music lover, audiophile, stereophile, you name it, I’ve heard music at every level imaginable. My own home sound system, and even the system on this computer, are capable of blowing the windows out.
And oddly, just within the past several months, I’ve developed a nasty case of Tinnitus. Never had a symptom before, but right now, out of nowhere, it suddenly drives me nuts. But ya know, I don’t blame it on music, or on the earplugs I didn’t wear. I blame it on age.
I wish I had protected my hearing when I was younger, I hear the ringing all the time
I heard if you go into a Beltone place they will test your hearing for free…don’t know if they can help your hearing improve somehow. That would be nice!
You made such great points here: (1) the soft ear plugs to protect your ears, those can really make a huge positive difference, and (2) people can’t even hope to have a nice quiet conversation with anyone in a restaurant anymore, because they’re blasting music all the time. How incredibly annoying!
I hope you get an early thaw in the frozen snowscape, and are able to get out of the house soon.
Irene- James and I made a video tonight about this and I so agree with you. We are bombarded with sound constantly. I hate that Oh Curt reacted that way to your comment on his video. I’ve never seen a video of his but I do sub to people who play music and talk and it’s so aggravating. I can’t hear them! haha. Hugs Sweet lady. I’m so glad Clair is doing so well. Hugs again!
I hear that noise mostly at night when Its quiet…I tend 2 tune it out during the day with all the other noises going on. Sorry U got it so bad. They got a new drug out 4 that…I think it’s called Quietice? It’s new tho so it probably hasn’t had much testing or what ever. Glad Clair is doing better.
hugs, Irene
So, I just learned something about you. I know you have complained about background music in my videos before, but had no idea why. I know you’ve mentioned before, too, that music in stores and restaurants bother you, too, but didn’t know why. I must have missed the ones where you talked about your hearing problem. *hugs*
so right about those ear plugs… I guess that you are right that too much can take the pleasure away… Nothing worse than when the music is too loud when you want to be romantic… heard you sing a few times and it was good !!! say Hi to Clair and take care of yourself !!!
